NOTES

Note 1. The last 5 days of the South Africa and Kenya trips overlaps with the first 5 days of the Kenya field camp. Students who opt for both camps will join the Kenya camp a few days after it starts but will not miss any essential content since the first few days of the Kenya camp will be spent reviewing mapping principles that students from the South Africa camp will have already had. Students arriving at the Kenya camp from South Africa will finish the South Africa camp and then join the Kenya camp in progress.

Note 2. The first week of the South Africa camp is spent on basic field techiques; Brunton compass, measuring section, taking field notes, sampling and documenting. This material will not be repeated at the same basic level in the Kenya field camp.

Note 3. Students may combine elements of both field camps under certain conditions. Students interested in doing this need to contact  Dr. Wood to work out a schedule and costs.
