FINANCIAL AID

 

Check with your institution to see if this field course qualifies for financial aid through your institution. Many departments have funds earmarked for student field work but you usually have to ask the department chair about this. Some  assistantship aid is available through this program (see below).

 

External Scholarships

 

There are a number of places that offer scholarships for field camp. The first place to start is your own institution. A number of geology departments have designated scholarships for field camp or field work. Start with your advisor and then go to the department head or chair. Also check with you Study Abroad office. If you need a letter from us we will be happy to furnish one.

 

The Association of Women Geologists (AWG) offers the Crawford Scholarship ($500) for qualified men and women to attend field camp. The deadline is February 16, 2010.Their web site can be found at: http://nagt.org/nagt/programs/awg_crawford.html
